Vivir Physio and Embracia Homes Sunbeam Program

Cafe at Moonee Valley Home

We have been successful in receiving FUNDING for a 13-week targeted exercise program for eligible residents. The allied health group therapy program also known as the Sunbeam Program is a temporary measure aimed at improving physical functioning of residents who are at risk of deconditioning due to the tough COVID period.

It will be led by an allied health professional from Vivir Physio, two times per week in groups of four and will include both RESISTANCE and BALANCE exercises for holistic outcomes.

The program will take place between July and October in collaboration with our allied health services partner Vivir Physio.

For the duration of the program residents at both Embracia homes will be assessed and have access to extra group therapy sessions. The evidence-based program aims to increase allied health services, improve overall health outcomes and provide more opportunity for social interaction.

Special thanks to Vivir HealthCare and the amazing staff at our homes who secured the grant opportunity. By embracing evidence-based practices and supporting innovative initiatives, they continue to provide quality care and prioritise the health and happiness of our residents.
