Meet Embracia Moonee Valley home’s very own Hairdresser – Julie

Barber shop in aged care home

Julie is the Embracia Moonee Valley home’s in-house hairdresser that works every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Julie speaks fluent Italian, to cater for our large Italian speaking community. She offers both a salon service and an in-room service for residents.

Julie delivers in-room services every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – residents can book for a hair treatment in their room and Julie will come to them. This is especially popular for our residents in the Tulloch & Northerly (Memory Support) household.

On Thursday Julie works from the downstairs salon and provides residents with a salon style wash, cut and blow dry service. Thursday is a busy day for Julie, as she assists residents who attend the salon. It’s no surprise it’s her busiest day, residents love the salon atmosphere and experience.

We stopped by last Thursday to see Julie work her magic. Julie’s friendly nature makes the salon a comfortable space for residents to relax in. They can enjoy a conversation with Julie or read a magazine while they receive their treatment.

Julie has been at the Embracia Moonee Valley home for several years now and has always formed strong bonds with the residents. It’s easy to see why, residents always leave feeling fresh and with a smile on their face.

It was great to see Julie in action, chatting away and making her clients feel special and pampered. You can make a booking with Julie by visiting or contacting the admin office, make sure to book in advance so you don’t miss out!
